Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and is second to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death in women.  Early detection provides women with the best chance of cure from this killer disease.  Some of the signs in women with breast cancer are a lump or mass that can be felt in the breast.   Self breast exams is encouraged during showers.

All women over the age of 40 should receive a mammogram regularly.  Mammogram's have a 10% error ratio, therefore you must follow-up with your physician for explanation of the results of your mammography.

To treat cancer in the breast, it is necessary to perform a lumpectomy or excision of the breast mass, a modifiied radical mastectomy, or a radical mastectomy to remove the cancer.
There are many ways to determine what type of mass or cyst exists in the breast.  Below you will find some examples of the procedures that are performed in order to make a determination.
